Young Artist Feature: Thomas Herr – Sow The Heart: One Story at a Time
Whatever You Are Be A Good One

Young Artist Feature: Thomas Herr

About a year ago, I enjoyed an inspirational chalk art presentation at Elva’s Art Barn in Lititz, Pennsylvania. The first off it’s kind I have ever seen. What is chalk art ? It is “an old-fashioned form of entertainment which consists of an artist quickly depicting a scene on paper and telling a story simultaneously.” It is often presented with music, and sometimes the message is pre-recorded.

While I was at Elva’s charming art barn gallery, she was awaiting the arrival of a bus group of travelers who were passing through the heart of Amish country. She invited me to stay for her presentation, which I greatly appreciated. I had gone there to drop off  a supply of one of my publications “Sew the Heart,” which Elva had kindly agreed to sell in her art gallery.

There is a young artist Elva Hurst began mentoring at age ten. Now age nineteen, Thomas Herr, is making his mark by traveling the country using his art and music to creatively tell stories. He is also an accomplished pianist. Take a few moments to watch this very brief video.  To read more about this successful young man, go to his biography on his website.

In my opinion, we need more creative people who bring positive, uplifting narratives of patriotism through their art to communities to restore faith in America.
