The Promise
According to an article in Psychology Today magazine, keeping promises is good for us. It means we have made a commitment and strive to live up to it.
I surely know something about making promises to oneself. In recent years I’ve made many throughout the publishing process. The litany is long and it looks something like this:
I promise myself I will….write everyday, finish the chapter by the end of the week, make the next revision, develop a theme, chose a title, send the manuscript off to an editor, put my whole heart into turning the manuscript into a saleable product….on and on it goes.
But the personal fulfillment in knowing you’ve accomplished your goals feels wonderful!
So, I promise there are more books coming, I’m working very diligently to carry them forward.
I’ll see you back here tomorrow on Sow the Heart, I promise.
