Many people are missing their regular visits to their favorite coffeehouse with a friend or their weekly lunch date with a business colleague or some other social activity that’s always on the calendar.
It’s been decades since my twin sister and I have done something with one another on a daily basis. With the stay-at-home order we’ve begun playing a nightly Scrabble game together on-line.
Believe it or not, I really feel like we are in the same room and she’s sitting on the other side of the table which holds the game board. Must be our strong twin vibes. Many times I can predict the spaces she is going to fill with her tiles and I often rush to grab them up if I can use them. She does the same to me, and we are constantly saying something akin to “You dirty dog! I was just going to use that space!”
Good idea you had Jan.
I’m enjoying our daily meet-ups across the space of the digital Scrabble board. It’s keeps the mind stimulated and it’s been a saving grace for both of us during this time of spending an awful lot of time indoors. Glad I took her up on her suggestion even though it was with some trepidation. You see, she’s been playing weekly with a bunch of ladies for three years. She claims it’s more social than anything but I don’t know. She’s pretty good.
So who wins? Who do you think?
