Sweet Nothings
“We never know the worth of water till the well runs dry.” – Unknown
The cherry blossoms have faded and with one or two more swift breezes any remaining flowers will fall to the ground. I am sorry to see them go but I’m glad they don’t last all summer because we notice them much more with a short-lived season. There will be other flowering trees to follow.
Speaking of appreciation -I read of a family who has begun to fill a jar with pieces of paper itemizing normal every day things they’ve wanted to do over the past weeks but haven’t been able to due to quarantine restrictions. Once our freedoms are restored they are going to do each one of them, very intentionally, so the “sweet spot” in each of the tasks will be realized. Too often we mumble and grumble as we go about our daily routines rather than appreciate the little things that give purpose to our lives.
Reflect a minute. What simple, every day task or chore that you haven’t thought much of before have you come to realize you enjoy and miss now that’s been forbidden?
