Summer’s Goodbye
“Thank you, Jesus!” As my Mom used to say. This has been the most glorious summer simply because I was able to do something I hadn’t done since I waved goodbye to my parents and went off to college many, many decades ago.
Not one blessed day escaped me without a swim except on the weekly pool cleaning day. Even on rainy days I managed to get a dip in and in between breaks in the thunderstorms too. Being able to play in the water is so nourishing to the heart and soul.
I’m so sorry to see the seasonal closing of the pool and the days getting shorter and chillier. It has felt so good to bask in the summer’s heat and I’ve had relief when I needed it.
Fall comes with it’s own pleasures but in my mind there are never enough summers in a lifetime.
