To travel is to take a journey into yourself ~ Danny Kaye
Today’s blog is simply a shout out. Fifteen young men and women all from one town, who call Steamboat Springs Colorado “home,” are competing this month in the winter games in South Korea.
Win or lose, the most important part of an athlete’s journey toward the Olympic Games are the lessons learned throughout the process. What has carried these sportsmen and women forward? If the athlete has allowed him or herself to be honest and have a healthy, balanced attitude, he or she understands what has driven them forward is not just the hours of physical training and development. It’s about the sacrifices others have made to help them achieve their goals of personal fulfillment.
Qualities such as determination, resilience, faith, commitment, integrity and positive relationships with teammates help lead to success but they are not the whole part of the equation.
