Samaritans Purse: Mongolian Heart Project

“The mind forgets but the heart always remembers.”— Anonymous

The Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project is near and dear to my heart because I often consider what would have been my outcome if other’s didn’t care. As a heart patient at Johns Hopkins in the early 1960’s, researchers faced big challenges in mending my heart. Today, with medical advances the fix would be easy but 50+ years ago the needed surgery was still uncharted territory.

Good work is being done in remote parts of the world to aid children with congenital heart defects. Billy Graham’s son, Franklin, visited Mongolia to learn about the children Samaritans Purse has helped. This three minute video is worth watching.

You can learn more about this project through this article . If you can find it in your heart to donate, there is a way to do so on-line.

As I consider my own annual giving to Samaritan’s Purse I remind myself  “great things are done by a series of small things brought together. ~ Vincent Van Gogh.
