Personally, I hope our country is on the brink of a refreshing trend. Maybe I’m mindful of it because of the journey I have been on for the past ten years. It seems to me people are beginning to recognize the value of living deeper.
Perhaps why shows like Tiding Up with Marie Kondo. Tiny House Big Living and Thrive with Less are so popular. Personally, I think younger folk have shown older folk a few things such as the insanity of paying to have storage units filled with things that just sit. For what reason?
Living life a little differently than we Americans have been makes sense. Even travel trends are changing. Here’s an interesting article which explains 2019 travel trends . Indeed there has been a shift in what people are looking for including spiritual and wellness-based travel. Increasingly there is a demand for yoga, dance and cooking classes at home and while traveling to other places. Artists of all kinds are combining workshops on their craft with travel.
Indeed, the satisfying rewards of volunteer work is also slowly being realized. Baby boomers who are now retiring constitute part of the population of people I am referring to. Being part of something greater than ourselves whether it’s at home or in a far off place feels good, keeps us engaged in life and keeps retirees productive.
