Pondering Virtue
“He who works with his head and his hands and his heart is an artist.” ~ St. Francis Assisi
I’ve been sowing thoughts about faith and personal fulfillment. My latest ponderings have led me to Virtue Science. Have you heard of it?I hadn’t until recently. Evidently living with virtuous beauty has the power to uplift the spirit and helps us to achieve our personal best. No doubt such values brings serenity and peace, not to mention a more open mind and heart. Virtues for life paired with believing in oneself, perhaps, are the keys to the kingdom!
Trying to believe in oneself 100% of the time and not walk in doubt is easier said than done. Why? Because we are human beings who come with our own notions about our faults and flaws. Sometimes they are ill-conceived and sometimes not! And sometimes we human beings act with high-faultin’ behavior!
As hard as we might try, only a saint can live with perfect principles all the time. Except for St. Francis, who is often in the garden, I don’t see enough saints hanging around. What do they dress like? Maybe I can stitch up a costume to wear out and about.
So in the meantime, I’ll just have to live with myself and each day strive to do better. Until I reach a utopian way of living here’s my solution.
