“What binds us together is far greater than what separates us….” ~ Bennet Omalu
Our country has gone through much since that tragic day in 2001 when the Twin Towers fell. In my opinion, it’s time to change tacts, without rehashing, and move forward. We can do this by sharing positive stories and examples with our children about the history of America’s strength and resilience, not weakness, in times of trouble.
In an ordinary day, in communities all across the country, tales can be told of kindness, generosity and goodwill toward others. Since the founding of our country stories such as these have existed.
Most importantly speak with high regard about our public servants who protect and defend our freedoms. They serve so selfishly and deserved to be honored. It’s time to bind together.
I came across an article about a tattered and torn flag that was salvaged after 9/11. The patriotic banner has traveled the country from state to state and is being pieced together. It’s reflective of the good things that can happen when we mend the fabric of the country. Take a few minutes to read the story.
