“Laundry, the never ending story…”
Clotheslines remind me of my grandmother, mother and my dear Fanny, a woman who was another beautiful figurehead in my life. If you are a baby boomer like me, hanging clothing outside to dry used to be a familiar sight. Wash day came once a week, and it was often determined by the weather.
I’ve decided to take a new attitude towards the household task of clothes washing. Rather than bemoan the fact that the task continues endlessly, I’ve decided to take a positive view. Here’s what it is: Always remember to look kindly on the people who create the need to do laundry in the first place. They’ve weathered the storms of life and are still around to do the wash for. What a delightful thought.
