National Quilt Day – Sow The Heart: One Story at a Time
Grandmother And Child Looking At Quilt

National Quilt Day

Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts! ~ Unknown

It’s National Quilt Day. That means, ladies and gents (yes, I did say gents!) across the country will be celebrating the passion behind what drives both sexes to create pieced and stitched home goods.

You’d be surprised at the number of men who participate in quilting groups and husbands who support their wives in owning a quilt shop. Sometimes men are behind the scenes doing the accounting or marketing or are the sewing machine technicians allowing  the wife to create, teach or run the day-to-day retail shop.

Bar-none, whether created by man or woman, some of the most attractive websites on the net promote quilt shops. You ought to check them out! They are colorful, artistic and creatively put together just like the fabrications that are made by the people who frequent the shop.

Soon, I’ll feature a male quilter who has resided in two towns where I’ve lived.  Continue to return to Sow the Heart so you don’t miss it and so you can read all about this talented, award-winning male quilter. In the meantime we will have other interesting things to read, one story at a time.
