Lifesavers – Sow The Heart: One Story at a Time
Helping Hands

Lifesavers

“The greatest thing one can do besides creating a life is to save one.” – Abraham Lincoln

You know, it really is the little things that mean a lot. The other day I made numerous attempts, from early morning into late afternoon, trying to do what should be a simple task – unscrew the tight seal on an unopened bottle of milk. After many unsuccessful attempts I got out my vice grips. Unfortunately they wouldn’t extend wide enough to be able to grasp the top, so they were of no help!

Finally by late afternoon, out of complete frustration, I took my milk container and walked over to our pool and asked the life guard to help me. After a couple of tries she finally got it exclaiming something to the effect that she couldn’t believe how hard it was.

You know, no matter how strong we think we are there are times when we need people. We really do. Sometimes it’s for the simplest reason and if you are like me, its so hard to ask.

Lifeguard, although my life was far from being in danger, you were still there when I needed you –  thanks so much!
