Invested in Family
“Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family.” ~ Unknown
Today I’d like to open my heart to say thank you to my sisters-in-laws and brother-in law for their loyalty to the family. They and their children have all stepped up in many ways to help deal with the issues of aging parents.
Over the past thirty-seven years my parents became “in-law-parents” to two daughters and a two sons when I and my siblings all married. They’ve been friends to each of them, managing to keep strong relationships with each of their “by-law” sons and daughters. Within our family circle, as in most, there is a wide spectrum of color in opinions, values and personalities.
My siblings’ mates have all become interwoven in the family fabric and have invested themselves, heart and soul. Lately, it’s become so very evident. We’ve been blessed by their presence. I am so grateful for them all.
And yesterday was my new daughter-in-law’s birthday, and today is my dad’s 91st birthday. We have much to celebrate.
