“Gratitude is the energy of faith.” ~ Unknown
On this day I’m feeling grateful for my blessings to those who have made contributions to my development as a writer simply through their love, interest and friendship.
About a week ago I made a discovery about my award-winning memoir “Gift of A Lifetime: Finding Fulfilling Things in the Unexpected.” It’s landed on a book list called Book Riot as one of 45 top books about family and I’m in good company with some very well-known authors.
Then, I was told Gift of a Lifetime is listed as #31 out of 100 of the most rewarding memoirs.
How did this happen? You, the reader helped by recommending my writing to other people. Thank you!
Secondly, when I began my debut publishing endeavor, I asked my Creator to give me the words to tell my story. The first draft of my memoir came easily. I believe I’d been writing the story in my mind my entire life. Without the stellar character in the story, Fanny, and her love and devotion to our family, the book would not exist.
Along with the recounting of my memories, words about God that I remember hearing as a child came to the forefront front, and propelled me along to believe in the power of my story.
I hope others who share their stories will find personal fulfillment in helping other people, like I have.
Thank you to all who are willing to read the stories of independent publishers. In the marketplace there are many wonderful books from ordinary people telling extraordinary stories. I have much to be thankful for.
