Since my sister retired I have been bugging her to get back to her decorative painting. It’s something she took great pleasure in when her girls were little children. She’s hemmed and hawed, I presume because she thought she’s lost all she had learned many years back.

Finally, she’s picked up her paintbrush and I think she’s surprised herself at how many of the techniques she’s retained. She’s even stepped forward working out of the box by delving into less structured, step by step processes of decorative painting – more freehand.

You will continue to surprise yourself if you go for it Jan!

I’m so proud of her and I think she’s having fun!
