So during this break from the hustle and bustle of life as we knew it, I have been teaching myself a new skill. Always my cheerleader, my good son sent me some tools to help me in my quest. Thank you, Marc and yes, I am so very blessed to have you in my life.
I’m trying to be gentle with myself while learning a new skill. It takes time, I remind myself! And when I mess up or am unhappy with my results , I repeat Ann Wilson Schaeff’s words “perfectionism is self-abuse of the highest order.” I am not at risk! What I’m doing is for the joy of it and I’ll just revel in little strides of improvement.
I’ve been considering how completely flawless can only be achieved by an automaton such as art some of the techie’s are turning out with the help of their computers. It’s called generative art. Ever heard of it? I hadn’t either!
Even so, the art will only be as good as the person programming the computer and that can be fouled up or runamuk too.
Here are a few pictures of generative art produced by technological wizard, Marc R Leonard, my offspring. It’s his idea of great fun. As I understand it every dot, dash, line and squiggle has to be translated from his brain into computer code. That’s all I know. I’m just a human being who hasn’t been schooled in the digital age. So I have limited capacity for those kinds of things.
