Touching A Rose

Connecting Energy

“You will never follow your own inner voice until you clear up the doubts in your mind.”

I read the call out, and thought why of all the people in the world would America’s leading expert on reading the human energy field contact me?  Then, I thought, silly me. The answer is in her email! So I went back and re-read the communication. However, I’ll be truthful and say I still had more than a bit of skepticism about the authenticity of  the digital letter (an e-mail from Rose Rosetree). So much junk mail lands in my inbox.

Here’s what Rose Rosetree asked:

“Dear Sue Leonard:

Because of the honesty, humor, and storytelling power in Gift of a Lifetime, I’m sending you this bold email. Would you do me the favor of taking a look at my upcoming memoir and perhaps write a prepublication review?”

I was all pumped up this winter when I received Rose’s email so I read the correspondence to my mom.

How do you know what the story is all about? She asked.

Oh, the author will send me excerpts or the entire manuscript if need be, I answered.

Then you’re going to do it?  Yes! I said, without one more second’s thought. From my own publishing experience I know how important it is to get pre-publication reviews. Besides, I thought, what if someone hadn’t taken the time to read my books before they were published? It’s time for me to return the favor.

Well, seeing is believing! Bigger than All the Night Sky has been published! It was a cheery day when I received my personalized copy via the USPS. When I read excerpts in order to write a review, the editing was not complete so now I look forward to delving into the completely finished content.  I’ve got a noodle in my noggin’ that the chronicle will reasonate in more ways than one.

  1. Thank you so much, Sue. And greetings, fans of Sue. 🙂

No advance reviewer has ever shared an article about that process of being invited. I found this delightful.

And I have a hunch, the quote at the start of her article comes from one of her books. So much sharing happens, even during the process of doing a favor for a stranger!
