Church Garden Picnic
“Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace.” – Unknown
These are unprecedented times. Everyday I think of ways to get out of the house, get fresh air and take a lone walk staying safely away from all others.
The other morning I rose early and went to Havre de Grace, MD to pound the pavement. Not a soul was around and I had a delightful stroll through their historic area. I’d packed my lunch not knowing how long I’d be gone.
Around noon I decided to venture back home and look for a place along the way to have my picnic lunch. In Churchville, MD I came across Trinity Episcopal Church a charming old stone ediface listed on the National Historic Register. Not one to bypass an historic church without taking notice, I stopped for a photo op.
After I took pictures I decided the bench in The Wall garden was as good a place as any to enjoy some serenity and my picnic lunch. As I ate I pondered the pandemic. It was as if I was hit by a nail to the head for the reason that came to me as to why these unprecedented times have transpired during the lenten season.
I’d like your opinion. Do you think these dark and uncertain days have come before us to teach us earthlings something other than to wash our hands frequently? If so what is it?
