Bring Heart Back to Main Street
“In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it”. – Marianne Williamson
Have you seen the show Small Business Revolution? I like it. It features towns across America where “downtown” used to be the heart of community, and it has lost it’s vibrancy. Suburban malls, changes to ways of doing business, economic recessions or lack of knowledge of how to lead in this current business climate are just some the reasons why the main street business owners struggle.
The goal of the show is to identify and help business owners who will add to the mission of restoring Main Street business. The show gives enterprising people a hand-up by consulting on how to pump up the business owners talents through knowledge so they will become part of the pulse of their town giving back the heart and soul of “downtown.” The places featured are already good communities but they could be much, much better. Identifying the strengths of each town such as their historical value, diversity of people or location or other uniqueness and then building on it’s assets is all part of the challenge.
Isn’t that what finding personal success is all about, too? Identifying ones own gifts and then learning how to successfully use those talents for the benefit of self and others? Check out season 1, all episodes filmed in Wabash and you’ll get clear understanding of the concepts the show is built on.
If you agree with bringing back Main Street business, you’ll enjoy this short inspirational video too.
