“Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it.”
― Winston S. Churchill
So last year was a toughy, huh? For many of us it wasn’t the best, and it didn’t end as we expected. But, guess what? It’s a new year and with that comes opportunity to do better or to get it right. There’s optimism in that!
On this first day of 2018, I’ll share my thoughts. Blustery conditions remind me I am a survivor and I’ve come through much in my life. With faith and lots of determination I will make it. I’ve already proven it to myself. After all, a heaping dose of motivation is needed to write and publish. As an author the obstacles I encounter are the catalysts behind what keeps me going.
I look forward to this year of creating new opportunities that allow for something a little new or different. Yeah, I know, sometimes easier said than done.
To be honest, for me, motivation often comes from the words of others. Each of us is taylor made by our creator, and we have our own set of skill sets. If we take the time to objectively look at our strengths (and weaknesses) and how our assets fit into the world around us, we can begin to stitch together a life that works to fulfill our dreams.
I’m going to start stitching together new opportunities today and then find out what I’m really made of tomorrow!
