Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Last month I was reminded that Thanksgiving and Christmas need not be a specific date on a calendar. Our son and his family traveled from where they live in the West to the East Coast, and our family gathering over a 5 day period was as good as any Thanksgiving in November or Christmas in December. The gift was in the reunion and two new little babies added to the family clan were the present. Cousins born 5 months apart meeting one another and some of their aunts and uncles for the very first time. A fabulous time was had by all.
Holiday travel has gotten complicated, costly and difficult for family members living in different regions of the country, so it was time our ever expanding family look at the way we do holiday gatherings and not have the joy of it diminished. Whenever we get a chance to gather, it’s a holiday. The gift is spending time together rather than material items exchanged.
And they all said AMEN!
