The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. ~ Luke 2:40
Last Friday evening my husband and I gave ourselves an early Christmas present. Tickets to the Steamboat Chamber Singers and their holiday program A Carol of Joy! The voices were very nearly angelic; so very pleasing to the ear. However Ain’t That a Rockin’, a traditional hymn of southern pursuasion was one of the most favored by the crowd. The audience cheered at the tune, and an encore requested. My spirit was particularly uplifted as the lyrics told of the mother Mary rocking and cuddling her precious child, baby Jesus, at a bit of rolicking pace.
Perhaps the gospel song hit my heartstrings because of my southern roots or I relived the joy of my first christmas with our beloved son.
For anyone who has ever spent a Christmas with young children you can relate to the excitement that tots bring to the holy day.
