“If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all” ~ Isaiah 7:9
It’s been an interesting process watching my mom recover from surgery. Until now, at 88 years of age, she’d never experienced major illness. Having anxieties about her physical capabilities is new to her. But then again, she’s never been tested.
Each time she rises from the chair, you can see she’s a little apprehensive. “Stand, and make sure your feet are firmly planted before you move forward,” all who have attended her physical rehabilitation have advised.
Each activity gives her strength and her faith is being restored. She can do it; she’s stronger than she thought – mending slowly and beautifully. Here’s an article I like which addresses other ways to strengthen our faith in ourselves.
There are gifts and rewards in all of life’s challenges if we chose to look at them that way.
