“Walking is a man’s best medicine.” – Hippocrates
Today is Heart Health Day. For me, it’s a day to celebrate one more beautiful year of life. Not only am I a survivor, I have thrived in good health from very tenuous beginnings. I penned my award-winning memoir Gift of a Lifetime: Finding Fulfilling Things in the Unexpected, after deeply, deeply pondering why I have survived when others have not.
On this Go For Red Day, and for the benefit of other children who walk the walk I walked some sixty-plus years ago without medical technology available today, I’d like to heighten awareness of what a child with congenital heart disease looks like through this short video.
There’s a giving opportunity to support children’s congenital heart disease called Change My Heart. Join in today!
