Wondrous Bright Spots
“Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone.” ~ Rodgers and Hammerstein, Carousel
Today I am holding my Mom in my heart because she was born on this day. We miss the feisty, highly-spirited, red-head of the family who now resides in heaven up above.
March is coming up and it is not the most joyous month for our family. Three years beyond the loss of both of our parents, the grief has softened and we’ve walked on without them. My siblings and I have found it different but our ties to one another have not been severed and perhaps made stronger.
God works in wondrous ways! Four new bright spots (the next generation) have since entered the family- two little boys and two little girls. One year after the death of my parents, on March 1st, 2019 my first grandchild was born! Her 2nd birthday is tomorrow! Now every March I can celebrate Charlotte’s birthday and think of wonderful memories of family life I had with her great-grandparents and raising her daddy.
Today, I am going to repost this writing from April 2016 as a bright spot.
