Summer Highs
- “The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” ~Holstee
No doubt about it, I am indeed a child of Summer! My energy is high, my thoughts are brighter and it is when I feel most inspired to create. I try to do as much outdoors as I possibly can before things heat up in the afternoon. I am fortunate because my outdoors space is in the shade in the morning, so I can take advantage of writing outside. Most mornings you will find me on my deck fooling around with ink and watercolors.
I enjoy throwing around both words and paint on paper. For me, putting together a decent sentence is whole lot easier than creating a painting but, I remind myself growth in leaps and bounds does not occur with everything.
Accomplished at watercolor painting I am not, but I can dabble, can’t I? I try to stretch myself creatively, why not? Even though the colors look a little washed out due to the sunlight captured by my cell phone, here is a smattering of my splashing around with watercolors.
It’s too early on to share anything about my book in progress but I can see influences of the season in my writing and it is progressing.
