What is the Answer?
Good, honest, hardheaded character is a function of the home. If the proper seed is sown there and properly nourished for a few years, it will not be easy for that plant to be uprooted. ~ George A. Dorsey
It’s alarming! Far too many children whose early lives should be filled with dreams, wonder and awe have been affected on a very deep level by life changing events that have gone on in America’s school yards.
The issues are complex and warrant deep discussion. In my opinion, character education is a start to mending the hearts of a society’s ills. Instilling in the next generation healthy values such as placing high value on the right things, listening to one’s conscience, feeling the good of serving others, teaching what it means to have a strong moral compass and showing respect for all people are just a few things that would benefit our children and the world in which they will exist.
