On the Stump: Part 2 – Sow The Heart: One Story at a Time
Gather For Good

On the Stump: Part 2

Come! Come to the Table!

The church experience has creatively been transformed into new ways of worship in this time of pandemic. Don’t believe me? Visit some of the videos from this summer from the Heart of Steamboat United Methodist Church or those of the Accidental Country Pastor who recently won some media awards. Websites of a large number of churches of nearly all denominations have recorded services you can listen to and watch at your convenience. It does not need to be on Sundays anymore!

In my own humble opinion this transformation of “the church” has been a very good thing. Some of the intent has been to gather in people who ordinarily are intimidated by walking into a church building or have not been real keen on the traditional church experience or can’t get out to attend a church on a Sunday morning for a variety of reasons. The pandemic necessitated finding new ways to carry on when church buildings have been on lockdown.

Whatever the case may be, I’d encourage you to consider gathering in a way that makes you feel comfortable and welcomed at the table. Why? Because we are all human beings with our own failings! Our egos, our biases and our controlling ways have not served us well as a society. We all need a little help from someone much bigger than ourselves.  Your perception of your creator might be different than mine, but we need a way to find unity so we can carry on lovingly and enjoy this precious, limited time we’ve been given on this Earth.

So come! Come to the table! Gather in your own unique way and find connection in your own front yard.  Need some ideas?  Visit this link which inspires to simply to do better as a people; if for no other reason than to leave a kinder world for the next generations.
