Its so very hard to believe we are nearly midway through 2021. In the previous post, I mentioned how a group I am connected with have begun to meet in person once again and how good that feels. One of the ladies in the group brought us Christmas presents she had made last fall but held on to them until we could begin gathering in person. This month we were finally able to do so.
The gift of a handmade exfoliating body wash cloth seemed very appropriate as we move into the next half of this year. Hopefully we will continue to slough off our skins of a sedentary, non-social lifestyle and become more active as friends and neighbors refreshing our connections. And for me, making new ones too!
After this long period of social distancing which made many of us look at what we really value, perhaps now we will begin to see people with softer, kinder perspectives and less bristly attitudes, knowing we have all experienced a rough patch together and come to understand that everyone deals with challenges in different ways.
Now it’s time to take individual responsibility to move from a nation of “unhealthy people” and come to understand the words of Confucius who once said, “To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.”
