Wheelhouses of Culture
Nearly every community has it’s own cultural landmarks so when I travel, I enjoy seeing places of interest in the region where I am visiting.
Included in my creative journey this summer was a visit to the Museum of the Rockies with a walk-about the adjacent grounds of the Museum of Living History in Bozeman, MT. Permission was given to dig up an edible treasure from their gardens. The pictures are numerous, so I’ve posted a few collages which will give you just a small taste of what the day brought.
Mary Barnett Gibson once said… “Work is only part of a man’s life: play, family, church, individual and group contacts, educational opportunities, the intelligent exercise of citizenship, all play a part in a well-rounded life… We are paying the price today of having too long sidestepped all that this means to the mental, moral, and spiritual health of our nation.”
If you’ve never been one to explore museums, art galleries, attend concerts and other cultural events, what are you waiting for? There are new horizons everywhere and some may even be in your own community that you have never ventured to before. Share them with the next generation.
Come on back next week. We will have more to inspire.
