Unrestricted Play
Childhood comes only once in a lifetime. As I sat down to write my award-winning memoir, I was greatly surprised at what came to the forefront. Thanks to my parents, what was prominent in the well-spring of my recollections were the wonderful days of outdoor play and recreation we had as a family. Those beautiful experiences cleansed my spirit and washed over the early years of my life being an critically ill child with a uncertain future.
Unrestricted play is important to children and adults. Next time you and your family are feeling overscheduled, allow down time to dream and create, wander and roam.
