On this National Child Health Day, I’d like to state a brief opinion. We’d do well as a nation to shift away from promoting material possessions for children to focusing on the idea of using discretionary income for outdoors family experiences. Over the past few decades youngsters have become “nature-deprived” spending less time outside. In later years this may translate into unhealthy adults -mentally, emotionally and physically.
Take a few minutes to learn about initiatives toward increasing awareness in communities of the importance of getting children and adults outdoors.
